I have both. And yeah I haven't quite figured out the float for the flaperons. But the spoilers work well. She's a heavy bird, so if I have enough space I bring her in with a steep glideslope. Just before flare and touchdown I throttle up for a smooth landing. That requires a bit more space and...

FWIW: I have tried several variations with a three-position switch (for me, D on my NX6):
0 = no flaps
1 = flaperons
2 = spoilerons

It seems comfortable to be able to go between flaperons and spoilerons with a single move of the switch.

For my UMX Timber X,
0 = no flaps: 0%, elevator 0%
1 = -80%...
