Sorry you experienced this, yes, many types of thread lock will cause plastic to fail. The only kind I know of that is designed to work with plastic is Tamiya thread lock. In most cases you don't need thread lock on plastic, there should be a self tapping screw and if it's not tight you could either...

Yes blue loctite destroys plastic I have had to learn this to it tends to turn the plastic into a paste
